Summer Was Made 4 Friends

Good evening everyone. I'm bringing you another LO done using a picture from last summer. I love the colors in this LO!

This is a picture of my son (in the knight costume) sitting on the couch, goofing around with some friends; a family of four kids. William's only sibling is 11 years older than he is, so he's pretty much an only child. When he gets the chance to play with so many friends at once he's always happy. We love having them over to play.

I'm using this LO as my entry to Lasting Memories Lifes Moments challenge. I used a sketch from My Create Sketches to create this LO.

Don't those looks like happy kids? I love it!

I love the way the bright colors stood out on the black background. I love sequins, and I think they added just the right amount of shine to this layout. I also love using white pens to doodle on dark papers. So much happy!

The title was created with three different alphas. I decided to use the number 4 instead of the word 'for' because my son had 4 friends over. Just a little play on words. I did my journaling in white pen to make it pop as well.

Please let me know your thoughts, and take the time to follow my blog if possible. Thank you!

Ocean Breeze

Good morning everyone! Today I am revealing my Design Team entry for this week's challenge at Lasting Memories. The challenge this week is called "My Country Tis of Thee" - scrap about something you live to visit in your country. For me. The first thing that came to mind was the ocean. I love the ocean! I live 30 minutes from two separate beaches. I can't imagine living very far from it.

The pictures I used for this layout were of my daughter on the ferry to Anacortes to visit her Grandpa.  Here in Washington state we have a lot of ferries to cross our many channels, bays, and harbors. There is a way to get to Anacortes by bridge, but we prefer to be on the ferry in the middle of the beautiful ocean.

I used my latest kit from Noel Mignon for this layout. It's full of super cute papers, and cute embellishments. I love the fine glitter Thickers that came with this kit!

I also used a few things from my stash, such as the green sequins, tags, and circles. I love using a few circles on a layout that has so many rectangular shapes.

To complete this layout I used a sketch from My Scraps & More Sketches . I love using their sketches for inspiration

Head on over to Lasting Memories and try this week's challenge for a chance to win a great prize and be in the running for our Guest Designer. We'd love to see what you create!

This Happened

Good morning everyone! Today I am revealing my guessing team layout for this week's challenge at Lasting Memories. This week we have a sketch to work with. Here is the sketch:

And here is my take on it:

I decided to use only the left side of the sketch. I took these great pictures of my son on his last day of third grade, and I really wanted to showcase them. This sketch was perfect for that.

I had just received my latest kit from Noel Mignon and I really wanted to play with it. When I saw the white brick paper, I knew I had to use it. I played around with several other papers, but finally found this combo of teal and gray that I fell in love with.

These phrase Thickers are something that I had in my stash. I was dying to use them, and this was the perfect layout. Most everything in the little cluster came from my stash as well. I love the black and teal sequins!

The 'xoxo' are some of the phrase Thickers again. I love all the little cards and tags I was able to tuck behind my pictures.

This is the last challenge for the month of June, so head on over to Lasting Memories and play along with us on this challenge and the rest for the month. Don't forget, you have a chance to win a great prize and possibly be picked as a Guest Designer with us.

Thank you for taking the time to view my page. Please join me and follow my blog before you leave.

New Kitties

Good morning! Today I'm revealing my DT layout for Lasting Memories Challenges. This week's challenge is called 'Bannerific'. The challenge is simple...use a banner on your layout. I love banners, so this one was an easy one for me.

I used some older pictures for this LO (June 29, 2002). It was fun to pull out these pictures of my adorable daughter. I used some scraps from last month's Noel Mignon kit to make this LO. I also pulled a few other things from my stash.

Such cute kitties!

Banners add sweet detail to most any layout. Don't forget to head to Lasting Memories Challenges to take on this week's Bannerific challenge. It's tons of fun!

I also used a sketch from Stuck?! Sketches for this layout. The moment I saw it I knew it would be perfect for this challenge.

Lasting Memories Reveal: She Loves Outside

This is my last reveal as a Lasting Memories guest designer. But, the exciting news is that I have officially been asked to join the design team! I am excited beyond measure!! So, for my official guest designer layout, for the Earth Day challenge, here is my layout about by beautiful granddaughter spending time outside.

Isn't she adorable!?! She absolutely loves when she gets to play outside. She just recently started walking, so walking in the grass is new and exciting for her. She found my garden chair and managed to get up in it. She's so tiny! These pictures were taken on one of our rare rain-free Spring days (seriously, we've had over 19" of rain since February!) in the Pacific Northwest. It also happened to be two-days before Earth Day. It was the perfect opportunity to be outside.

I just got my new Noel Mignon kit, Carousel, today. I fell in live immediately and knew I HAD to use it right away! The colors were perfect!

See that glitter? I cut out strips of paper, rounded the corners, then ran them through my Xyron sticker maker. I then covered the adhesive with the American Crafts Cotton Candy WOW! Glitter that came in the kit. It was perfect for adding that pop. I also used some Heidi Swapp embellishments from her new Dreamy collection that came with the kit. I love the sheer look of them!

Whenever I use a lot of straight lines I also like to add circles to soften the look. This doily was perfect! And those sequins!?! Those were in the kit as well...made by Jenni Bowlin. I must get more of those!

And this little cluster of embellishments just had to happen. The sequins, sheer hears, wire sun and heart, the 'Cute' sunburst, and the little tiny flair that says Busy Being Happy...I love it all! I also used a few other little things from my stash, such as some of the letter stickers and the little black tags, simply because they all worked so well.

And, last but not least, I used a sketch challenge for this layout. Creative Scrappers is having a
birthday challenge. They have supplied 12 sketches for you to play with. Simply pick the one (or
more) that you want to play with, create your layout and enter to win. What fun!

I hope you all have enjoyed my layouts as a guest designer for Lasting Memories for the month of April. I've had a blast and I can't wait to start my new adventure as a permanent member of the team! Head on over and take on the Earth Day challenge yourself.
