This Happened

Good morning everyone! Today I am revealing my guessing team layout for this week's challenge at Lasting Memories. This week we have a sketch to work with. Here is the sketch:

And here is my take on it:

I decided to use only the left side of the sketch. I took these great pictures of my son on his last day of third grade, and I really wanted to showcase them. This sketch was perfect for that.

I had just received my latest kit from Noel Mignon and I really wanted to play with it. When I saw the white brick paper, I knew I had to use it. I played around with several other papers, but finally found this combo of teal and gray that I fell in love with.

These phrase Thickers are something that I had in my stash. I was dying to use them, and this was the perfect layout. Most everything in the little cluster came from my stash as well. I love the black and teal sequins!

The 'xoxo' are some of the phrase Thickers again. I love all the little cards and tags I was able to tuck behind my pictures.

This is the last challenge for the month of June, so head on over to Lasting Memories and play along with us on this challenge and the rest for the month. Don't forget, you have a chance to win a great prize and possibly be picked as a Guest Designer with us.

Happy Girls Shine Brighter

Good evening everyone. Tonight I'm bringing you a layout I did just for fun. I received my new Noel Mignon kit today and decided I wanted to play. This is what I created.

These pictures are of my baby girl, Crystyl, when she was nearly four. This year she's turning 20, so the pictures have been sitting around for awhile. I absolutely love the smile on her face! I wasn't sure what title I would use for this page, but then I found this saying on a sticker that came in the same kit. It really fit the pictures. And those soft glitter Thickers are perfect too!

See those Thickers? The glitter is super fine. I love the look of them!

Gotta love that smile! She was such an adorable little girl.

I used a sketch #85 from My Scraps & More Sketches for this layout. I love their sketches!

Thank you for taking a look at my blog. Don't forget to become a follower before you leave. Thanks!

New Kitties

Good morning! Today I'm revealing my DT layout for Lasting Memories Challenges. This week's challenge is called 'Bannerific'. The challenge is simple...use a banner on your layout. I love banners, so this one was an easy one for me.

I used some older pictures for this LO (June 29, 2002). It was fun to pull out these pictures of my adorable daughter. I used some scraps from last month's Noel Mignon kit to make this LO. I also pulled a few other things from my stash.

Such cute kitties!

Banners add sweet detail to most any layout. Don't forget to head to Lasting Memories Challenges to take on this week's Bannerific challenge. It's tons of fun!

I also used a sketch from Stuck?! Sketches for this layout. The moment I saw it I knew it would be perfect for this challenge.

Last a Day of 3rd Grade

Good morning! Today I'm revealing my layout for ScrapStuffz Inspired By challenge.

Nothing says summers to me like the end of school. Both my husband and me are teachers, so when our son has his last day, we know that summer is here!

I loved the colors in the inspiration photo. I also loved all the words. I knew I wanted a longer title with different colored alphas for my LO.

I loved all the bright colors in these papers. They reminded me of the inspiration photo as soon as I saw them. I used papers from this month's Noel Mignon kit. I also found the cute little rub ons in the kit as well.

All the patterns make me happy!

This big wooden "3" has been hanging around in my stash for awhile. I'm glad it finally found the perfect home on this LO.

I also used a sketch from Let's Capture Our Memories for this LO.

Head on over to ScrapStuffz "Inspired By" Challenges to take on this challenge yourself. While you're there, check out our search for next month's Guest a Design member. We'd love for you to play along!

Mommy & Me

I've been running behind on my Lasting Memories DT duties. The end of the school year is always a little crazy for a teacher. So, now I'm working on catching up. This challenge was due on the 15th, so I'm not doing too bad. :)

The challenge was to use Selfies of yourself or someone else on your layout. About the only selfies I take are with my son. He always makes me laugh. I love building these memories with him. I also love that I will always be in our family scrapbook albums with him.

I used my latest kit from Noel Mignon for this layout. The bright colors make me happy and seemed appropriate for this picture. All of the papers are from Amy Tangerine's Plus One line. The "Mommy & Me" wood veneer was something I picked up at Michael's craft store. It worked perfect for this LO.

I'm learning to like my handwriting on my LOs. I know it's special when I find things with my mom's  and grandma's handwriting, so I'm trying to keep that in mind for my kids for the future.

The little hearts were just something I had in my stash, as well as the enamel dots.

I used sketch #271 from Creative Scrappers for this layout as well.

Head on over to Lasting Memories to take on this challenge and all the rest of June's challenges. We'd love to see your creations!

Those Dimples!

Good morning everyone! Today is the start of the second challenge for June at Lasting Memories. This weeks challenge is 'Wishing You Blue Skies' - Use blue and white on your layout. Personally, blue is one of my favorite colors, so I was excited for this one. Have a little boy means that I keep a lot of blue papers on hand.

I found a great sketch at My Scraps & More Sketches (#84). I absolutely love their sketches, so I was excited to see their latest challenge. It was perfect for what I wanted for my Lasting Memories challenge!

The wooden hearts are beautiful! I love them on the page, but I was stingy with then because I want to keep them all. I love embellishments that make me happy.

I used papers from my stash for this layout. I also used these awesome blue Thickers that I just recently bought. Love them!

If you love blue and white as much as I do, head on over to Lasting Memories and give our challenge a try.

Playing With the Birds

Good evening everyone! Tonight I'm revealing my layout for Lasting Memories 'Go Wild with Animals' challenge. The challenge was issued last week, but I've been so busy lately that I just couldn't get it done. Better late than never!

It's been a long time since I've done a double-page LO. I had too many pictures for a single-page, and I found a great sketch from Scrapbook Challenges (#396). These pictures are from 1999, so they've been hanging around just waiting for me to scrap them for awhile. This challenge was perfect! I also just got my Noel Mignon kit for June, and it had these great teal and lime papers in it. They were perfect for the pictures. I love orange with these colors, so I couldn't resist adding a splash of orange.

I used overlays on most of my photos. They helped to hide the unwanted backgrounds, and added really cute detail.

Aren't those colors yummy? I also added the smashed pennies that we made at the Oregon Zoo. I love adding souvenirs when I can.

These enable buttons from Jillibean Soup are awesome! I love the details they add. This cute wood veneer arrow was in the Noel Mignon kit. Love it!

I hope you enjoyed seeing my LO. Head on over to Lasting Memories and join us in this fun challenge. You have until the end of the month, so get those pictures together and start creating. I can't wait to see what you make.
