My Scraps & More GD Reveal: Just Do It!

Good morning everyone! I am so excited to have been asked to be a guest designer for My Scraps & More. I absolutely love their sketch challenges, and I try to entry each one. This one was once again so much fun! Here is my take on their sketch.

The pictures are of my adorable granddaughter, Meila. She just turned 10 months old and is walking. Every time we take her picture lately she sticks her little tongue out. She's so cute!!

Here is sketch #83 from My Scraps & More.

Isn't it great? I love the simplicity of the sketch that allowed me to play and add my personal touches.

I love this paper line! Simple Stories has great colors and embellishments. I added some teal Thickers from my stash that work beautifully with the papers.

See that little tongue? Adorable! I added grades and other embellishments from my stash to add to the layout.

This little rose came with the Simple Stories line. I covered the back of the sticker with baby powder and pop-dotted it. I added the cute little flair button and heart leaf from my stash too. Such a fun little corner!

I hope you enjoyed my take on the sketch. Don't forget to head on over to My Scraps & More to play along.

My Silly Life

I love these pictures of my kids and me. We were on the ferry, and Troy just started snapping pictures.    It was fun to just be silly for awhile. I love these kids so much!

I used my new Bella Blvd. Scattered Sprinkles kit for this layout. The colors are so much fun!

I bought these yellow Thickers awhile ago, and loved them so much that I had to get a second package. They were perfect for this layout.

Washi tape, flair, and enamel dots....so much fun! And those beautiful faces!?! Man, I love those kids!

I used a sketch from Let's Get Sketchy for this layout. This is for Week 1/May challenge. I'm a bit behind, but I'm glad I waited for my new papers.

Thank you for taking a look at my newest layout. Please join my blog and follow me. I'd love to have you along for my journey.

Updated 6/19/14: This layout was featured in Bella Blvds a Newsletter! Check it out here.

Let's Get Sketchy DT Call: Snuggle Time

Let's Get Sketchy has called for new Design Team members, and that makes me very excited! I absolutely love their sketches and try to participate in all of their challenges. So, when they called, I got to work. Here is the challenge sketch:

Such a great sketch! Lots of fun elements to okay with.

For this layout I used Bella Blvd Scattered Sprinkles paper and embellishments. I love the colors and fun look of this line. I chose a black and white picture of my daughter and our cat, Snuggles (thus the title).

I added black glitter Thickers because I absolutely love Thickers, and glitter! The little clusters of embellishments just make me happy.

I'm very excited about applying to be on Let's Get Sketchy's Design Team. Don't forget to head on over and give it a try yourself.

ScrapStuffz "Inspired by" Challenges DT Reveal: Sweet Baby Girl

Hello everyone! Today I'm revealing my layout for ScrapStuffz "Inspired by" Challenges. The inspiration photo for this month is fabulous!

The minute I saw this picture I thought of my sweet baby granddaughter. She loves being outside, and she's all about pink, and flowers, and butterflies, and girly things. Perfect for this picture! So, here is what I created with this inspiration:

When I found these Simple Stories papers in my stash I knew they were perfect for this challenge. The flowers and colors were just what I was looking for. Of course, the pictures I used of Meila were of her being outside. She loves being outside. I used some Close to my Heart flower embellishments, and some brads from my stash. I also found The butterflies in my Simple Stories Vintage Bliss collection. Absolutely perfect to go with the inspiration photo! And, to top it all, some fabulous, girly, pink glittered Thickers. Love it!

The title is made of two types of Thickers.

Butterflies, brads, flowers, pink twine, and more. Yum!

I love that little face!

Meila is always so curious. She touches everything with just one little chubby finger and inspects it. She usually eats it after that, but she does look at it carefully first!

I also created this LO using sketch #392 from Scrapbook Challenges. I adore their sketches!

I hope you enjoyed my layout. Head in over to ScrapStuffz "Inspired by" Challenges and play along with us before May is over.

Sweet Baby Time

Looking at these pictures showed me just how much my granddaughter has grown up in the last ten months. Right now she's walking, and starting to talk, but here in these pictures she was just four days old. It's amazing how quickly time goes by. Long days, short years.

I created this layout in response to Challenge #80 from My Scraps & More. I wasn't sure about the rounded edges at first. I tend to be very linear in my layouts. But, after I played with it for awhile I found I liked it.

I really wanted "girly" elements in this layout. The sketch showed circles, which it used, but if wanted more. I found some simple wood veneer butterflies, which I loved. But, they weren't "girly" enough, so I painted on them with Stickles. I really love the effect!

The Stickles really stands out on the butterfly.

I just recently found these purple Thickers. I was so excited to be able to use them! Just another "girly" element. I love it!

Lasting Memories #191 Reveal: #Teenager

Good morning everyone! Today I'm revealing my layout for Lasting Memories sketch challenge. I love playing with sketches, so this challenge was perfect for me!

I've been waiting for awhile to scrap these pictures of my daughters room. What a mess! She was 16...typical teenager. I recently bought two 6x6 paper pads - Basic Grey's Highline, and Amy Tangerine's Plus Pad. I love the bold colors! They were perfect for these pictures.

The challenge sketch was fun. As soon as I saw it I knew which pictures I'd be using. So much opportunity to fill the page with color. Don't forget to head over to Lasting Memories and post your take on this awesome challenge!

Aren't these colors great? They are perfect for teenagers. And the alphas? Awesome, right?!?

See this mess! It's catastrophic really. I never understood how my daughter could live in that place.

I used a Close to My Heart stamp to stamp the journaling lines on the tag. I loved being able to write the journaling in pink for once. The stars, little words, and 'awesome' are from Heidi Swapp. I love her stuff!

Thanks for checking out my latest layout. Please go to Lasting Memories and join in the fun!

Cutest Selfies Ever

Oh, I love my girls! My daughter, Crystyl, and her daughter, Meila, make me so happy. When I saw these pictures I knew I'd be scrapping them. Meila's little tongue sticking out is just too adorable.

I created this layout for two challenges. The first is challenge #2 from Scrap & Play Challenges. This challenge is a word play challenge. The challenge is to create a layout and include at least one item on the page for each letter in the word FLOWERS. For my LO:

F=Flower ribbon, L=Lines, O=Orange Alphas, W=Wanderlust from Studio Calico, E=Enamel Hearts, R=Rose Colored Cardstock, and S=Signo Uni-Ball White Pen

I used Sketch #393 from Scrapbook Challenges for this layout. I had fun working with this sketch. The linear lines make me happy! I used this month's Noel Mignon kit, Carousel. The colors are super fun in this kit! I also used alphas from my stash. I'm an alpha fanatic!

This flower ribbon just makes me happy! And those sequins? Yum! Jenni Bowlin makes great embellishments.

These yellow Thickers made me so happy that I had to buy two sets of them!

See those sequins! Great right?!? And the enamel hearts made me so happy that I used the entire pack!

Head on over to Scrap & Play Challenges and Scrapbook Challenges to take part in the fun!

Just Livin' Life

Hello everyone! Well, it's the beginning of the weekend. I have a ton of work things I need to do, but scrapping is much more fun! I especially had fun with this layout. I was able to play with a new kit I just bought - Simple Stories 24/7. I love the colors in this kit!

I used a sketch from Let's Get Sketchy (May, Week 2). The sketch was simple, but still through me for a bit of a loop for a bit. I added the diagonal strips of paper on the top and bottom because the layout had too much white space without it. I like the way it turned out!

I love all the embellishments that came with this kit. The brads and arrows are great! I love the color combo too! Everything works perfect with these pictures of my adorable little man.

I love using different alphas on one layout. I was able to use three different alpha types here. Lots of fun! And the word stickers made a great border.

I hope you enjoyed my layout. Head on over to Let's Get Sketchy and try out the sketch yourself.

Lasting Memories #190 Reveal: My Sweet Love

Hello Everyone! Tonight I'm revealing my layout for this week's Lasting Memories challenge (LM 190), Unusual Embellishments. The challenge is to use something on your LO that isn't normally used for scrapbooking.

For my LO I used metallic tape from Home Depot. The tape is usually used to repair heat ducts. It's sticky on one side and shiny on the other. I wanted to make sure this page had a masculine feel to it as it's a picture of my husband, so I thought metal would work well for that. I covered small round chipboard pieces with the tape and then ran them through my embossed. I really like the effect!

Don't the look great? I love the shine, and that they have design but aren't too "girly".

I used Echo Park's Capture Life papers for this LO. I love using 6x6 pads, and they worked perfect for this. After picking the pages I wanted I tore each one in half, then I fanned them out equally and adhered them one at a time to the page. I distressed the edges a bit, and inked them all.

(I love that man!!)

I also used a sketch for this LO. The sketch was from Life.Paper.Scrapbook.

I liked the simplicity of the sketch. My homemade embellishments are my way of adding the circles from the sketch.

I had a lot of fun with this LO and the embellishments. I hope you head on over to Lasting Memories and try the challenge yourself.

Going on a Ferry Ride

I love my boys!! This picture of the two of them just makes me happy.

I used a sketch from My Scraps & More to create this layout.

I love their sketches! They are simple enough to allow me to play and add details. So much fun!

I adore putting teal and orange together. The colors make me happy! The Thickers worked perfect with the layout. I also found this anchor paper by Webster's Pages in my Noel Mignon Social Butterfly kit. It was just what I needed for this picture!

Flair, bubbles, bling, and banners, oh my! I love them all! The Heidi Swapp banner was too cute to pass up.

Could the burlap anchor be any less perfect? I love it! I also love the Jillibean "Favorite" card. This little crowd of embellishments was fun to put together.

I hope you enjoyed checking out my layout. Please join my blog and check out the rest of my posts.

Lasting Memories Reveal: Sick Little Man

Awwww....my sweet, little man. How can someone be so adorable even when he's sick?

This month I am officially a designer for Lasting Memories. I'm so very excited for this opportunity! The first challenge this month, LM #189, is to create your own background. The are some people who are great at using gesso and paints and gellatoes, etc. I'm not one of those people! I struggle with making a mess of any kind. So, for my background I chose to splatter Heidi Swapp Color Shine on cardstock. It's still a bit messy for my taste, but I'm starting to like it. It's always good to take yourself out of your comfort zone, right?

I also used a sketch challenge from Stuck?! Sketches for this layout. Their sketch was created by Laura Whitaker, who is fast becoming a favorite sketch designer of mine.

Isn't it great?? I love the simple and clear lines. She does beautiful work.

I used the Social Butterfly kit from Noel Mignon for this layout. I love the colors! I thought the gray Thickers were perfect for the word "Sick".

I love this teal blue twine. I ran I through my Xyron to make it a sticker. It works perfect!

That sweet little face. He's so adorable, even when he's sick. This little grouping of embellishments makes me happy.

Head on over to Lasting Memories and take on the create your own background challenge. I'd love to see what everyone does and how you take on thus challenge.

What a Pair!

I love this layout!! These pictures have been in a box just waiting to be scrapped.  Finally found the perfect way to showcase them.

I love the colors in this layout. They are soft, yet fit a "boy" page nicely. I had fun adding all the details to create this page.

I was asked to cohost a challenge with Stacia Brandt for a Facebook Group we both belong to, called The Crafty Cropshop. For the challenge we both Scraplifted each other's layouts. My layout was in response to her layout, which is beautiful!

See? She does amazing work! You can see more of her beautiful work here.

Take a look at Stacia's blog, and please join my blog as well.
