Summer Was Made 4 Friends

Good evening everyone. I'm bringing you another LO done using a picture from last summer. I love the colors in this LO!

This is a picture of my son (in the knight costume) sitting on the couch, goofing around with some friends; a family of four kids. William's only sibling is 11 years older than he is, so he's pretty much an only child. When he gets the chance to play with so many friends at once he's always happy. We love having them over to play.

I'm using this LO as my entry to Lasting Memories Lifes Moments challenge. I used a sketch from My Create Sketches to create this LO.

Don't those looks like happy kids? I love it!

I love the way the bright colors stood out on the black background. I love sequins, and I think they added just the right amount of shine to this layout. I also love using white pens to doodle on dark papers. So much happy!

The title was created with three different alphas. I decided to use the number 4 instead of the word 'for' because my son had 4 friends over. Just a little play on words. I did my journaling in white pen to make it pop as well.

Please let me know your thoughts, and take the time to follow my blog if possible. Thank you!

#coolkids

Good evening everyone. Tonight I'm showing off a layout I worked in this weekend. It's a LO about my son and his Auntie, one of my best friends, when they took a Selfie after seeing a movie together. I love this picture. They just look like they are so cool.

This picture has been hanging around waiting to be scrapped for a a year (I didn't add the date to my  LO until after I took the picture - July 2013). Because I used an older photo and a Noel Mignon it that has been hanging around since June, I decided to enter this LO in The Studio Challenges clear up challenge.

I used a sketch from Stuck?! Sketches that was designed by one of my favorite sketch designers, Laura Whitaker. I took the sketch and flipped it (I admit, I have issues with banner points pointing up). I had lots of fun playing with all the layers. I used an older Noel Mignon kit that I hadn't worked my way through yet. I love the colors!

Those green 3-D glasses were perfect! My son loved them.
I used Heidi Swapp's Color Shine in teal to color the Doilie. It made it much more interesting than plain white.

I love this little group of fun embellishments. You will also notice a little Heidi a Swapp glitter frame tucked under the picture. I'm using this LO for challenge #87 from Red Carpet Studio . The challenge was to use something glittery. Not only did I use the glitter frame, but the title is made from green, glitter Thickers.

You can't get much more glittery than that, right? I used a yellow acetate # sign and dabbed a bit of teal ink on it to calm the color a bit. I love how it blended so well with the green letters.

Thank you for taking a look at my layout. If you like my work, please take a moment to follow my blog. Thank you!

Sweet as Sugar

This layout was so fun to create! It started with a sketch from Sketch-N-Scrap . I really liked the idea of the circle in the middle. Then, I remembered seeing a layout awhile ago somewhere with a circle of Washi tape. That's when I located these pictures and it all came together. So much fun!

To make the wreath of Washi tape I first cut out a circle of Cardstock and centered on the 12x12 paper. I then started laying out stripes of Washi across the circle and over both edges. I continued until I had the whole area covered. I then took my exacts knife and cut around the cardstock circle that was now under stripes of Washi. I was then able to peel the Washi off of the circle and save all those pieces. Pretty awesome! (I wish I'd taken pictures during the process now.)

Here's a close up of the layers of Washi. Fun, huh?

I used some glitter thickers for to the title. The word 'as' was difficult to read amongst the Washi, so I put the letter stickers on some cardstock, inked the edges, and pop dotted it so it would stand out.

I love these embellishments!  I've had them in my stash for awhile, so it was fun to get a chance to use them.

Thank you for taking the time to check out my layout. Please let me know your thoughts.

Love This

Well, I had a small break in scrapping due to some flooding in our town and our house, but, all is well (or on their way to being well), and it's good to be thinking of scrapping and not house repairs.
I'm still working on using up the "Hey Girl" Kit from Noel Mignon. I'm loving the colors, and gold is quickly becoming a favorite accent. This is my latest creation:

My daughter is beautiful! Luckily she's just as beautiful inside. I love my girl! This scrunchy-nose look is common for her. I know that she's laughing inside when I see that look on her face. I love it!

I used a lot of gold on this page. I love the way it shines.

I used some DearLizzy watercolor words for the title. I colored them with Mr. Huey's Color Mist in Gold. I also dropped some of the mist on the page and smacked it on the table to make the drops drip nicely.

More gold accents. Lots of fun!

This little cluster of embellishments was fun to put together. I used more Dear a Lizzy watercolor words for the XOXo. I also used Rubens, enamel dots, felt flowers, a glitter frame, and some adorable Washi tape. So many goodies!

I used a sketch from Let's a Get Sketchy for this layouts I really liked working with it.

I am also using this layout for the January challenge at Red Carpet Studio . The challenge was to use items in twos. To meet this challenge I used two photos, two word phrases (Love This and XOXO), and two felt hearts.

Thank you for taking the time to check out my layout. Please leave me a comment, and join my blog to see more of my work.

Everything is Awesome!

I had so much fun with this layout! The colors fit the event well. This is a photo of my husband and I with our son as we wait for The Lego Movie to start. I love it so much! William was super excited, and the movie was pretty good.

I used Sketch 422 from Scrapbook Challenges for this page. I turned it on its side so it would work with my picture.

I used the Hey Girl kit from Noel Mignon for this layout. The colors are so bright and fun. The kit included these great star clips and some Heidi Swapp word stickers. I took full advantage of them both. They worked perfect with this page!

The alphas for the title did not come with the kit. The blue alphas have been in my stash forever. I'm so glad I finally got to use them! The colored alphas are fairly new, but I honestly had no idea how I was going to use them until now. They are perfect though!

This awesome flair came in the kit. It works well with the word stickers and enamel dots.

I'm very happy with this layout. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Please let me know your thoughs. Thanks!

There's Always Room for More

These pictures include three of my favorite people: my husband, my son, and my granddaughter. My son and granddaughter are only 8 years apart, which is closer than the 11 years apart my daughter and son are. It's an interesting dynamic. I love that I get to see my son and granddaughter growing up together. These pictures are typical of some of the interaction. Meila has to be in the center of things. The boys love it!

I used a sketch from Stuck?! Sketches for this layout. Laura Whitaker was the sketch designer. She quickly become a favorite of mine. Her work is so much fun to play with. I used my "Hey Girl!" Kit from Noel Mignon for thisw about as well. The colors are tons of fun!

I love this little tree. It's been in my stash for a awhile. This seemed like a good place to add it. I used black Thickers in the title to calm down some of the bright colors and help ground the pictures.

I had this little journaling card in my stash too. I hand wrote my journaling on it, then stitched it to the page. I used buttons and enamel dots to embellish in several places.

I love using multiple types of alphas in my layout titles. It makes them more fun. This whole page is about fun!

Thanks for taking the time to look at my page. I'd appreciate any feedback you can give me.

Game Day...Go Hawks!

I have been waiting to scrap these pictures! I loved them as soon as I saw them. When I got my latest kit from Noel Mignon (Hey Girl!) I knew I was finally ready to scrap them. The colors are perfect!

Little Miss Meila was all dressed up for the Super Bowl. Living in Washington state, she has to be a Seahawks fan. Her mom and other Grandma dressed her up for the game. And the game was awesome! The Broncos had no chance! (43-8!!)

I used a sketch from My Creative Sketches for this layout. I turned it on its side so I could use these photos.

Isn't she cute??

I stuck the green ribbon down and then created ripples in it (I'm not sure how to explain it). I then put then blue ribbon over it and stitched it down with my sewing machine. I used Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Citron around the page to add a little bit of shine. I also stamped the arrows in white, then outlined them in navy.

I created the title using two different types of Thickers. I love this flair!

I added the felt bow to the ribbons. It's adorable! The 'oh happy day' was a Jillibean word card. I cut off the top and tucked it under the ribbon.

I hope you enjoyed my layout. Please let me know your thoughts! Happy New Year!
